How To Overcome Insecurities When Singing

mindset Jan 26, 2023

The Power of YOU!

Today, let's talk about the insecurities and doubts that you might have about your singing abilities and how to overcome them. Let's go!

Have you ever had these thoughts and do they sometimes hinder you from sharing your passion for singing with others?

"Who am I to be singing on stage?"

"I'm not good enough!

It is common for beginner singers to feel insecure of themselves at times. That's perfectly normal. But, how do we overcome these self-doubts?

Here's a lovely excerpt from the book, A Happier You, that I’d love to share:

“Think about where flowers come from. A seed placed in the earth already has 98% of everything it needs to become that beautiful bloom. In a miraculous way, the blossoms' color, pattern, and height already reside within the seed. The only missing ingredients are water, sunlight, and soil. In other words, the right environment for it to reach its full potential.”

We are like the seeds with 98% of everything that we need to reach our fullest potential. The only thing that is missing is the right environment for us to bloom.

What does it mean to have the right environment?

It means having the right vocal exercise, the right singing buddies, the right vocal coach, the right roadmap and mindset, and the right people around you. The right environment will help you on achieving the big goals you set for yourself. The right environment helps you bloom and overcome your insecurities.

For the upcoming week, I'd love to encourage you to:

1) Be mindful of what your environment is right now

2) Think of one thing that you can do right now to reach your fullest potential

I'd love to hear what you thoughts in the comments section!
